“We want our charging station to be a reliable, safe and aesthetically pleasing element in the urban infrastructure. That's why we opted for the material PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC,” says Radoslaw Lipski, Purchasing Specialist at Enelion. The colorless material is virtually UV-impermeable. Its scratch-resistant coated surface is also resistant to abrasion. All of this contributes to the high-quality appearance of the charging stations.

The scratch-resistant coated surface on one side is a special product property of PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC.

PLEXIGLAS® is generally a robust material, as acrylic glass has the highest surface hardness and abrasion resistance of all thermoplastics. It becomes even more hard-wearing with a scratch-resistant coating. This means that the panels of the charging stations are also equipped for intensive use in public spaces and are better able to withstand careless handling of the charging plug.

What's more, like all other PLEXIGLAS® products, PLEXIGLAS® Optical HC is extremely UV and weather resistant, making it a durable material for outdoor applications. The surface of the panel retains its brilliant gloss over the long term - and the colors on the printed reverse side retain their intensity because the material does not yellow in sunlight and does not become brittle.
